Edward Jamieson

Plant Integrity Manager

Edward has been employed within RWE and its predecessor company for nineteen years, beginning his employment within the graduate scheme. He has progressed through several engineering and station roles onto group-head management to his current position of Plant Integrity Manager within the Technical Services (TS) department of RWE Generation in the UK managing a team of just under fifty engineers.

Around a quarter of his career to-date has been spent working on station sites. The experiences gained during this time has enabled him to focus the delivery of station-related work within the teams he has led.

He has been a Chartered Engineer for over a decade and his specialism is in the design and operational engineering of fuels, combustion and emissions control technology and the successful integration of these complex boiler retrofit projects. Edward’s educational background is as a Bachelor of Science in Fuels & Combustion from the University of Leeds.
Edward has significantly contributed or led many emission reduction retrofit, boiler upgrade or fuel conversion projects in the UK on solid fuel and gas fired plant, ensuring RWE plant continue to be environmentally and economically compliant for future generation. 

What gives you most satisfaction in your work?

I have managed engineering groups for the last decade and get great satisfaction from a successful and efficient team approach to resolving technical challenges. The development of young engineers is high on my agenda to maintain our world class standards.

What it means to me:

Having worked to resolve complex engineering issues for internal as well as external customers, my approach is consistent in drawing in world class knowledge to ensure a solution is devised to meet the customers target. Achieving this goal gives me satisfaction in a job well done.
