Thomas Löffler (Dipl.-Ing., M.Sc.)

Mechanical Engineer

Thomas is an expert in mining engineering with six years of practical experience in mechanical engineering and construction within the RWE Group. In the course of his work as development engineer he was member of various project teams and took responsibility for several development and quality management projects in the past years. Thomas is experienced in the layout of mining equipment within highest safety standards, cost finding and choice of design and materials under severe environmental conditions. He worked in different onsite inspections and projects for maintenance improvements of mining equipment. Thomas also participates in the management of international consulting projects with main focus on South America.

During his studies Thomas specialized in the field of mining, mining equipment and civil engineering machines. He graduated with a Diploma (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering from the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, Germany, in 2010. 

What gives you most satisfaction in your work?

This field of work offers so many different and interesting new challenges every day. If it concerns the development of high quality solutions for complex engineering problems or the improvement of operating processes.

Why did you choose RWE TI? 

I am fascinated by the opportunity to work in a great variety of international projects while being backed up by the know-how of the whole RWE mining division that over the last 100 years reached an exceptional level of efficiency and operational excellence in open cast mining.
