RWETI experts sharing insights on how to reduce CO2

Being carbon neutral is becoming increasingly important. As an engineering consultant, RWETI supports customers in reducing their carbon footprint in a variety of projects. As a strategic partner, we focus on innovative solutions. The potential for reducing CO2 in the power and industrial sectors is significant. Let's start together now to reduce our carbon footprint!

Reducing CO2: Engineers leading the way. What are the challenges, skills and requirements?

“Without the expertise of RWE, we would not have achieved this result. This journey has also shown us that by working together as a brewery, malting plant and bottling plant, we achieve maximum synergy and savings.”

Sander Berger, Engineer and Project Leader at the brewery

What it takes to realize projects efficiently

In order to carry out a project successfully, good cooperation between the client and the service provider is fundamental. RWETI maximizes the success of the cooperation by meeting important prerequisites. These include clear identification of the tasks, checking the data and document situation, continuous exchange with the customer, discussion of results and much more.

Let’s make the cooperation a success!

Zero carbon at home

Our employees at RWETI try to reduce their carbon footprint in their private environment through a variety of measures.

TIC03-michael-schuetz

Michael Schütz

Head of Mechanical Engineering

My story:

“I’m reducing dramatically my personal footprint by not driving to the office and or to our clients: Under “normal” condition in the past I was 40.000 km per year with my car on the road. This means 2.000 l. per year or 5.200 kg CO2 per year. Actual I’m driving only 15 % of this km. So I reduce my footprint by nearly 4.500 kg CO2 per year, or more than 12kg/day!”

TIC03-elke-bohn

Elke Bohn

Technical Assistant

My story:

“Due to Covid-19, I save about 500 km of car drives to work per week. Through the experiences we have all made, I hope that hybrid working will "take root" and we will save a lot of CO2. I also do many things on foot in my private life and thus save CO2. The size comparison between the shoes and the car (see photo) shows what an important role RWE plays as an employer.”

TIC03-jan-josef-bernholz

Jan Josef Bernholz

Head of Process Engineering

My story:

“I lived in Brazil for a long time and saw how many fish species are at risk or being overfished. I wanted to do something good for the oceans, so I set up my own crab and fish farm where I breed endangered species.”

Heike Kaupenjohann

RWE Group Art Archive

My story:

“I began using rainwater for watering my garden almost 30 years ago and have been using a photovoltaic system with grid feed-in for the past 10 years.

In addition, I am driving an e-car for more than one year.”

TIC03-georg-berger

Georg Berger

Senior Expert Process Engineering

My story:

“I try to use my bike and public transport as much as possible in order to reduce car rides and the carbon dioxide emission related to that.

It’s also contributing to my personal health and fitness.”

TIC03-joerg-walter-ohne-text

Dr. Jörg Walter

Head of Engineering

My story:

“I try to reduce my carbon footprint with a variety of measures. These include heating with sun and wood, producing twice as much electricity myself as I use in a year, only operating my washing machine and dryer when the sun is shining and driving an e-car privately.”
