Energy sources – gas

The front runner of the power generation business

Flexible and well prepared

Having said this, the output of gas-fired power plants has recently only been in particular demand in winter or when the feed-in from renewables has been too low. However, the highly flexible power plants are in the ideal position to overcome this because they can be started up within a very short period of time.

Developments in market prices and energy policy since 2016 are currently giving rise to the hope in all three countries that natural gas will be increasingly used to generate energy. RWE’s gas-fired power plants are well prepared for this increased demand.
